EPM Cloud Update – March 2018 – EPBCS, FCCS, PCMCS, ARCS & EPRCS

February 24, 2018

Oracle releases the application updates documentation on new features and fixed issues from the Applications Release Readiness site. From there, you will be able to check the update for Customer ExperienceHuman Capital Management, Enterprise Resource PlanningSupply Chain ManagementEnterprise Performance Management.

A quick recap of the EPM applications.

For PBCS, Enterprise Planning Cloud (EPBCS), FCCS, PCMCS, ARCS and EPRCS, usually, the latest update will be installed on the first Friday of each month to test environment, and third Friday of each month to production environment. The update will be applied during the normal daily maintenance window.

For the March update, it will apply the latest updates to test environment on Friday, March 2nd, 2018 and to production environment on March 16th, 2018.

In this patch, these are the major updates:

Enterprise Planning Cloud

1.Script to Generate Provisioned Users Audit Report

A script is now available to automate the process of creating an audit report for provisioned users. This report shows the users and associated roles or groups that changed since the last time the report was generated.

2.Support for Infolets and Infolet Integration with Navigation Flows

Infolets, a new dashboard capability to enable data visualization, are now available in Planning and Budgeting and Enterprise Planning and Budgeting services. Infolets enable Service Administrators to provide enhanced graphical data presentation using charts and texts. Service Administrators can create infolets for any cube.

Infolets are interactive and use progressive disclosure to display high-level, aggregated, essential information for quick consumption at a glance. Users can act upon the information in the infolets as needed. They can be flipped and resized to display up to three charts or sets of values.

Service Administrators can create an infolets page that contains one or more infolets. Infolets page houses a container that manages the space occupied by the infolets and rearranges them depending on the size of the browser and the size of the infolets.

3.New Schedulable Job Type: Optimize Aggregation

The new Optimize Aggregation job generates optimized views based on collected query tracking information in an aggregated storage cube. This job has two actions:

  • Enable Query Tracking
  • Execute Aggregation Process

Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud

1.Supplemental Data Manager Multi-Cube Support

When we work with Supplemental Data Manager forms, we now have the option to select the cube from which to use dimension members. For example, when we are validating supplemental data, we select the cube from which the data needs to be validated.

During the Refresh Database process, metadata is copied to Supplemental Data Manager. In addition to leaf-level members, non-leaf level members are now copied, and the corresponding parent node name is displayed in Supplemental Data Manager.

2.Reporting Translation Process

Translating to reporting currencies is now required for all periods. Correct presentation of translated opening balances for historical accounts requires the cumulative translation of prior periods.

If prior periods in the current year have not yet been translated, they will be translated before the selected period. If there are prior years that have not been fully translated, the user will need to translate in sequence each year that has not yet been translated and then translate the current year. This requirement is the same as for the consolidation process.

Profitable and Cost Management Cloud

1.Optimize for Reporting is Handled Automatically

In the Manage Calculation screen, the Optimize for Reporting setting has been removed. Optimization is handled automatically now.

Account Reconciliation Cloud

1.Migrating from On-Premise Account Reconciliation Manager to Account Reconciliation Cloud

We can migrate from Oracle Hyperion Financial Close Management’s Account Reconciliation Manager module to Oracle Account Reconciliation Cloud. The Financial Close Management release must be at 11.1.2.4.250 or later to perform this migration.

2.Transaction Matching: Enhancements to Unmatched Transactions

This update includes these enhancements to the Unmatched Transactions dialog:

  • Viewing More than 1,000 Transactions
  • Select All Transactions Capability
  • Export to .CSV File

3.New Rest API For Account Reconciliation Cloud

We can now use a new Account Reconciliation Cloud REST API to monitor reconciliations in Reconciliation Compliance for a given period and filter name.

Enterprise Performance Reporting Cloud

1.Provisioned Users Audit Report

A script is now available to automate the process of creating an audit report for provisioned users. This report shows the users and associated roles or groups that changed since the last time the report was generated.

2.New Conditional Format and Suppression Conditions in Management Reporting

In Management Reporting, there are two new Conditional Formatting and Suppression conditions that allow testing for the associated attribute dimension member and User Defined Attribute (UDA).

3.Fusion Applications Essbase Support for Management Reporting

Management Reporting now supports Fusion Applications Essbase as a data source. We can select Oracle Fusion Applications Essbase Provider as a data source.

4.Interactive iXBRL Viewer

We can now view iXBRL reports in an interactive viewer. Select IXBRL Interactive Viewer from the View menu to open the report in a full-screen browser window. The iXBRL interactive viewer is available for SEC reports only.

These are the March updates for EPM Cloud. I will keep my eyes on the monthly updates and will share more ideas going forward. See you next time.
