Oracle releases the application updates documentation on new features and fixed issues from the Applications Release Readiness site. From there, you will be able to check the update for Customer Experience, Human Capital Management, Enterprise Resource Planning, Supply Chain Management, Enterprise Performance Management.
For PBCS, Enterprise Planning Cloud (EPBCS) and FCCS, usually, the latest update will be installed on the first Friday of each month to test environment, and third Friday of each month to production environment. The update will be applied during the normal daily maintenance window.
For the September update, it will apply the latest updates to test environment on Friday, September 1st, 2017 and to production environment on Friday, September 15th, 2017.
In this patch, these are the major updates:
1.Integrated Business Process Navigation Flows
Service Administrators can set up connections that enable users to navigate across Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud subscriptions to create unified business process flows across multiple subscriptions, which can belong to any combination of EPM subscriptions. The following subscriptions are supported within this feature:
- Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud
- Oracle Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud
- Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud
- Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud
- Oracle Account Reconciliation Cloud
- Oracle Profitability and Cost Management Cloud
- Oracle Enterprise Performance Reporting Cloud
As of this patch, the connections are supported for:
- Connections where services are in the same domain within the same data center
- Connection across multiple subscriptions when services are in different domains and different data centers if an identity provider is set up for federated SSO
Connection across multiple subscriptions when services are in different domains within the same data center will be supported in a future update.
2.Simplified Provisioning Report
This release includes a simplified Provisioning Report that provides a concise view of the roles assigned to each user. In addition to providing the number of provisioned users, the enhanced report presents information on each provisioned user in one row to provide a comprehensive view of all assigned roles.
3.Selecting Identity Domain at Sign In
The sign in process no longer requires us to select an identity domain while accessing the service. To simplify the sign in process, the name of our identity domain is now derived from the URL that we specify.
4.Ability to Add Child Members for OFS_PENSION Plan
For the Financials business process in Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud, we can now add child members under OFS_Pension Plan, so that the associated Smart List in Workforce Planning shows more detailed accounts in the Benefits & Tax wizard.
5.Strategic Modeling Updates
- The Models icon is renamed to Model View; the Consolidation icon is renamed to Consolidation View.
- We can right-click a cell to access a context menu that includes Account Forecast, Subaccounts, Goal Seek, Scenario Manager, and Audit Trail.
- We can add subaccount members in bulk.
- We can change model properties including Default Unit, Default Currency, Input Decimal Places, and Output Decimal Places.
- Reports in Strategic Modeling have improved performance and can be re-ordered and hidden.
The September update is not a major update for EPM Cloud. I will keep my eyes on the monthly updates, and will share more ideas going forward. See you next time.
