When the planning and budgeting application comes to Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service or Enterprise Planning Cloud, you may wonder how many BSO and ASO plan types or cubes are supported in PBCS? Meanwhile, when we’ve configured any business processes, what are the prebuilt cubes and dimensions?

Now let’s dig into these cubes and dimensionalities. The planning and budgeting applications provide plan types or cubes to serve as application containers. There are two types of cubes, Block Storage Option (BSO) and Aggregate Storage Option (ASO) cubes. BSO cube is used for collecting user inputs, performing calculations, and facilitating the planning process.  ASO cube is used for reporting.

 

PBCS – Standard Planning and Budgeting

PBCS provides seven total cubes: three BSO cubes and three corresponding ASO cubes, plus one consolidating ASO cube. Each of these cubes has a unique aggregate storage application name. Some BSO cube examples are Financials, Workforce, Capital Expenditure, and Projects. The ASO cubes allow these BSO cube datasets to be combined for reporting purposes and also provide a place to store additional years of historical data.

EPBCS – Enterprise Planning and Budgeting

EPBCS is the enterprise planning cloud, which provides four out of the box prebuilt business processes:
